Grupo Profàrmaco relied on a monolithic data pipeline built on traditional technologies, making it inflexible, error-prone, costly and difficult to maintain.
With business expansion and growing data requirements, it became evident that the current stack lacked the scalability and flexibility needed to adopt modern data engineering practices and improve performance, quality and data availability.

Uptimal partnered with the client to modernize their legacy data infrastructure, replacing a rigid monolithic setup with a modular, cloud-native architecture built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
By decoupling extraction, transformation and storage, we enabled more scalable and maintainable data operations. Leveraging Dataform, BigQuery and Cloud Functions Gen2, we built robust API connectors to SAP and SharePoint. We also reengineered over 80 transformation layers, migrating logic from legacy QlikScript to optimized standard SQL. The solution is fully integrated with CI/CD and includes automated data quality checks, resulting in a flexible and future-proof data stack.

Architecture & Integration
We designed a modular cloud-native solution on GCP, separating extraction, transformation and storage. Key workflows were migrated from Qlik to BigQuery using Dataform and standard SQL. -
Automation & Reliability
We developed API connectors via Cloud Functions Gen2 to SAP and SharePoint, enabling automated ingestion, CI/CD integration and data quality checks across over 80 transformation layers.
